Experience a traditional welcome (in language) to the land of the Whadjuk  and hear the Noongar story, the first story of the Whadjuk people and ancient Dreaming stories passed down through countless generations. Learn about the traditional way of life of the Whadjuk people, their spiritual connection the country, the river and the animals that inhabit Noongar Boodja.

Walter McGuire’s 30-year career across Indigenous health, housing and education has been gathered in a variety of government, non-government and community programs and organisations. His unique resume of cultural involvements and employment in the Aboriginal sector combined with qualifications in Training (Cert IV TAA) and Indigenous Community Management and Development, render him an excellent choice for delivery of cultural awareness training in diverse contexts. Walter is the Noongar member of this workshop facilitation team with wife Meg McGuire.

Meg McGuire is a Kungarakan woman whose traditional lands lie in the Northern Territory. As a former Librarian, researcher and Ministerial writer, Meg's varied work and community involvements range across Aboriginal community development programs, policy and governance in urban, rural and remote regions of WA and the NT. Combined with a love of history and the arts, Meg's distinctive skillset reflects a long-held belief in the ability of culture to heal and empower Indigenous communities whilst positively impacting non-Indigenous experience on country.
